Bricks and Bridges 5K Biathlon

The Foundry will host its second annual Bricks and Bridges Biathlon 5K erg and run on Saturday, Dec. 2. Join the Foundry for its second annual Bricks and Bridges Biathlon, from 7 a.m. to noon. The event includes a 5K static erg row & 5K run through the Flats. Registration includes a T-shirt, as well as a chance to win a handpainted golden anvil. There are four divisions: women, men, girls under age 18 and boys under age 18.

The Foundry Community Rowing & Sailing Center aims to serve the greater Cleveland Community. By opening up our spaces to the public, the Foundry can further its mission of providing opportunities for Cleveland's students to row and sail on the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie. Tour the facility and try out the state-of-the-art indoor rowing tanks open in honor of National Learn to Row Day! All attendees are required to register online.

Bricks and Bridges Biathlon

The much-anticipated 2018 Bricks & Bridges Biathlon will include competitors of all skill levels and ages! Open to sixth grade student-athletes and up to any age, this year's event is a 5K ERG & 5K Run through the Flats. First 50 athletes to register get a 2018 Biathlon T-shirt, and top three athletes per category receive a prized "golden anvil." Online registration closes Thursday, Nov. 29. Day-of registrations will be accepted until 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 1.

Linda Muri at the Foundry

Linda Muri, a three-time world champion rower and 18-time U.S. national champion, will speak at the Foundry Community Rowing Center, in a free, public event.  Muri is a world-renowned coach with long stints at at Cornell, Harvard, Dartmouth, and now MIT.  This summer, she is coaching the American Women’s Doubles team at the World Cup championship in Poland.  Muri is in Cleveland to kick off the Foundry’s U19 and U23 training program.  The Foundry invites current and prospective high school…

The Foundry Community Rowing and Sailing Center, in partnership with Destination Cleveland, are pleased to welcome Dr. John Hartig, a Fulbright Scholar whose research focuses on cleanup of the Great Lakes. Hartig will delve into how public outcry over the 1969 Cuyahoga river fire catalyzed river cleanup locally and nationally, and helped to revitalize the Flats. The talk on the 50th anniversary of the final Cuyahoga River fire is free, but you must register.

Understanding and avoiding thunderstorms on the Great Lakes
