Registration is now open for the third annual Cleveland Amateur Boatbuilders’ Boatbuilding Basics Workshop. The class runs for five consecutive Saturdays, Feb. 8 – March 7.  Class size is limited to 16 participants, who work in teams of four. 

 

Using simple hand tools participants will build a six-hour canoe, a lightweight, 15-foot boat paddled like a kayak.

 

The class will meet at the Cleveland Amateur Boatbuilders Workspace in the Flats, 1776 Columbus Rd in the heart of Cleveland’s rowing community along the Cuyahoga.

 

No prior experience or woodworking skills are necessary. Minimum age to participate is 14.
