Fairport Harbor beach has changed considerably since it became a part of Lake Metroparks. The beach is groomed, making it easy to walk barefoot, and it is now wheelchair accessible, through both wooden walkways and a plastic path across the sand. There is a concession stand, picnic tables, benches and places to get out of the sun. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for rent. Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park is a 21-acre lakefront park that features a beach with a gradual slope and sandy bottom. Recreational opportunities on the waterfront including kayaking, canoeing, sailing, boating, camps and special beach programs/festivals. The park features a handicap-accessible harbor view deck, dog swim area, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, concessions, amphitheater, volleyball courts, playground and picnic area with grills. Food concessions open daily, weather permitting, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. A $2 parking fee applies to Lake County residents, $3 for out-of-county-visitors.
