The Foundry Community Rowing and Sailing Center, in partnership with Destination Cleveland, are pleased to welcome Dr. John Hartig, a Fulbright Scholar whose research focuses on cleanup of the Great Lakes. Hartig will delve into how public outcry over the 1969 Cuyahoga river fire catalyzed river cleanup locally and nationally, and helped to revitalize the Flats. The talk on the 50th anniversary of the final Cuyahoga River fire is free, but you must register.

Burning River Lighted Boat Parade

Decorate your boats and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the last Cuyahoga River fire with a boat parade from Whiskey Island to Merwin's Wharf.  There will be prizes for each of three vessel size classes (20-30 feet, 30-40 feet, and more than 40 feet).
