Lakeside Symphony Orchestra concerts

Hear Lakeside Chautauqua’s new conductor, Daniel Meyer, lead the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra in its 56th summer. The fresh three-week season includes a pops concert, an array of featured soloists, youth concerts, pre-concert talks and more.
The performances are:
Wednesday, July 31: This show will feature violinist Jinjoo Cho, a native of Seoul, South Korea, who moved to Cleveland at 14 to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music, performing Dvorak’s “Violin Concerto.” 8:15 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 1: Meet the Orchestra children’s concert, 2 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 3: Verb Ballets’ associate artistic director, Richard Dickinson, is working with the company on a new piece choreographed to Mendelssohn’s “Italian’ Symphony No. 4.”
Tuesday, Aug. 6: This concert is in memoriam of Robert L. Cronquist, LSO Music Director & Conductor from 1971-2017. Because of his devotion to Lakeside’s arts pillar, the LSO has remained a cherished tradition for more than five decades. The symphony pays tribute with the theme of “Friends in Music.”
Thursday, Aug. 8: Music Olympics children’s concert. 2 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 9: This special Pops performance features crooner Steve Lippia in “Simply Swingin’ with Sinatra & Friends.” This show will treat audiences to timeless hits such as “Beyond the Sea,” “It Had To Be You,” “I Love You Just the Way You Are” and more.
Tuesday, Aug. 13: This concert will feature soloist Colin Davin on the guitar.
Friday, Aug. 16: The Lakeside Symphony Orchestra’s Closing Concert will feature pianist Angelin Chang performing Saint Saens’ “Piano Concerto No. 2.” Chang, an internationally acclaimed pianist, is the first American female and the first pianist of Asian heritage to be awarded a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist with Orchestra.
