Rainy Father’s Day weekend: Lake Erie marine forecast June 14-16

Happy Father’s Day! Sorry the weather won’t be in a celebratory mood.

We’re looking at small craft advisory through 4 p.m. Friday, with gusts up to 35 knots and waves 4 to 7 feet.

Saturday afternoon through Sunday are looking rainy, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s the marine forecast for Lake Erie, from Avon Point to Willowick. The water temperature is 59 degrees off Cleveland.

Friday: West wind 19 to 22 knots, decreasing to 14 to 17 knots in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 31 knots. A slight chance of showers before 7 a.m. Waves 7 feet subsiding to 3 feet. High of 68 degrees.

Friday night: South-southwest wind 10 to 14 knots, with gusts as high as 21 knots. A slight chance of showers after 4 a.m. Waves around 2 feet. Low of 60.

Saturday: South-southwest wind 13 to 17 knots, with gusts as high as 24 knots. Chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9 a.m. Waves around 2 feet. High of 70.

Saturday night: South-southwest wind 8 to 12 knots. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Waves 1 to 2 feet. Low of 64.

Sunday: West-southwest wind 8 to 10 knots. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Waves around 1 foot. High of 72.

Sunday night: Variable winds 5 knots or less. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Waves around 1 foot. Low of 64.
