When the Cuyahoga River was an open sewer, choked with oil and trash and sewage, the Putzfrau cleaned it up.

In a 16-hour day, the Putzfrau could pick up 100 cubic yards of debris and 15,000 gallons of oil.

Now, to celebrate 50 years of the river’s recovery, advocates want to restore the boat.
