Get your kids into boating — and fishing at the Progressive Cleveland Boat Show. Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is also Kids Day at the show, where kids can get a free fishing pole, plus get their faces painted, get balloon animals and see some of their favorite pirate and princess characters.
The Cleveland Metroparks has its El Cee 2 water taxi, where kids can pretend to fish, and kayaks they can try out. Ohio Sea Grant is teaching kids to tie lures. And the Ferris wheel is always a big draw.
So you want the fishing rods, right? My kids totally do.
You just have to be among the first 100 kids at the show, which opens at 10 a.m. Get a ticket and take it to the Fish Now Expo, where Dan Armitage will be leading kids fishing clinics at noon and 2 p.m.
