Perfect summer days ahead: Lake Erie weekend marine forecast July 5-8

Aerial view of the Great Lakes, July 5. (NOAA)

Lake Erie lovers will want to spend every minute of this coming weekend out on the water. From Friday to Monday, the weather is looking warm, dry and calm.

Surfers will want to get out for Friday. The rest of the weekend, waves are too small for any real excitement, but on Friday waves could reach up to 4 feet.

Saturday will be great for boaters, sailors and paddle boarders. Waves are very light, winds only slightly breezy, and both the air and water, very warm.

Sunday, things are heating up. High temperatures will jump to the 80s, which means you might want to jump in the lake to cool off. But be careful, there are still water quality advisories at some Lake Erie beaches.

Check for the latest conditions, on E. coli, harmful algal blooms and more, here.

The heat and sunny weather continues into Monday.
