Lake Erie marine forecast June 14-17

It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend to get out on Lake Erie. For Cleveland Race Week, too!

Friday will be perfect for boaters, sailors, swimmers and paddle boarders, but not so great for surfers. Skies are looking mostly sunny and temperatures warm; winds will be enough for sailors, but waves will remain below a foot.

It’s not going to be a washout, but if there’s one day to avoid the lake this weekend, it would be Saturday. Scattered storms are possible throughout the day, but waves and winds still shouldn’t be too bad. So if you’ve got a hull on your boat, or don’t mind a little rain, you may still be able to head out.

Sunday is going to be a scorcher, and a perfect day for a dip in the lake. Sure, the water temperature is in the mid 60s, but air temperatures will skyrocket to the 80s. With sunny skies and humid air, that will feel very uncomfortable and sticky. Perfect to jump in the lake to cool off.
