Still got your boat in the water? Get prepped for the possibility of lake-effect snow Friday, with some high waves resulting from strong winds, triggering a small craft advisory until 5 p.m. from the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

The forecast winds and waves could prove difficult for new mariners or those with smaller boats, so it’s a good idea to stay out of the lake until those conditions subside.

But don’t worry, you can head back out on the water for Saturday, if you can brave the cold. (And high school sailors at the Foundry will, since they’ve got a regatta this weekend!) Highs will reach a chilly 40 degrees, but thankfully winds and waves are looking calm.

Sunday, I’d head back to land again. While winds and waves aren’t looking too strong or high, a chance of scattered showers is expected throughout the day.
